LAN-TEL Installs Thermal Imaging Cameras for Elevated Body Temperature Screening in Winthrop Public Schools

October 6th, 2020

As Winthrop, Massachusetts prepared for the school year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, LAN-TEL Communications was called upon to deploy FLIR stand-alone stand-alone thermal imaging cameras/scanners for all schools in the Winthrop school district. The cameras are used to screen and detect students and staff who have an Elevated Body Temperature (EBT). LAN-TEL Security Division PM Eric Johnson, Director of IT Mike French, and PM Shaun Kennedy headed the LAN-TEL project team in the fast-track project, which was completed by the NECA contractor in late August, prior to the start of the school year.
