October 17th, 2019 – Dorchester, MA – Joe Bodio, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder of LAN-TEL Communications, Inc., was honored as a “Man of the Year” by IBEW Local 103’s Italian American Club. The honor was bestowed at the Union’s fourth celebration of Italian Heritage and Traditions on October 12th, 2019.
The Italian American Club Celebration was a tremendous success enjoyed by all who attended to honor Joe Bodio and fellow honoree Anthony (Tony) Antonellis. Many members of Joe’s family and LAN-TEL’s team were present for the ceremony.
Joe is a 48-year member of IBEW Local 103 and has transformed LAN-TEL Communications into one of the most respected and distinguished structured cabling, security, and technology companies in New England. Joe’s strong leadership, 40+ years of industry expertise, and positive example are the driving forces behind the company’s success and highly regarded reputation.
Joe believes strongly in giving back. His commitment to the community includes involvement with many organizations, including Catholic Charities, My Brother’s Keeper, Boston Children’s Hospital, Teen Challenge, State Police Association of Massachusetts Benevolent Fund, The Children’s Trust. He has been a long-time supporter of IBEW Local 103’s Italian American Club.
Joe’s family is from Ispra, a commune and small town on the eastern coast of Lake Maggiore, in the province of Varese. His dad was first-generation born of two Italian immigrants, Theresa Ferrari and Cipriano Bodio. Theresa and Cipriano immigrated to the Boston-area, and his grandfather worked in a quarry in Roslindale. His parents’, Henry and Helen Bodio, had four children. There are many Bodios still residing in various parts of Italy. Joe loves to visit Italy, and he recently returned from Lucca, where he visited the island of Sardinia with his wife and friends.
