First and foremost, I would like to thank the ASM community and everyone who attended the Gala event at the Museum of Science (see page 22). I would also like to thank the board and the ASM members for putting their trust in me over the next few years. I look forward to working with the various committees as we move ahead in these very exciting and robust economic times. As we have seen in the past few decades, faster and better technology has driven us not only in our jobs but also in our everyday lives. When I started with “Ma Bell” 47 years ago, every work order or communiqué was either face-to-face or via telephone – in other words a “strong human element” was involved.
