Meet Ruben Diaz
Ruben Diaz is a foreman for our security team celebrating fifteen years with LAN-TEL and twenty years with IBEW Local 103!
He chose the Union because he was looking for stability in a career where he could use his smarts and his hands while also receiving benefits and training.
When asked what he enjoys most about his work with LAN-TEL, Ruben says having to think outside the box keeps the job challenging and exciting. “Every job is different and utilizing prior experiences on job sites to determine the best way to complete the task at hand is very personally rewarding.” But one of the greatest aspects of working for LAN-TEL Ruben says is “Receiving continuing education at no cost to the technicians. That is something you just don’t get at other companies, and it not only benefits us, but it benefits the company and our customers.” He believes that continuous training is so important in this line of work as technology is always evolving.
While Ruben loves being part of the security division of LAN-TEL, he appreciated the different opportunities that are available within the company. “There are so many options if you want to try something different. Audio/Visual, fiberoptic cabling, data are all available to you. LAN-TEL allows us to grow and flourish and we are all valuable to the company.”
On his days off you can find him with his family and his 1 year old Rottweiller!
