Lt. Governor Karyn Polito at the JATC – Boston, MA
(LAN-TEL Apprentice Clarence Bates tells Lt. Governor Karyn Polito about
his experiences at the JATC and future plans with IBEW)
On June 16th, LAN-TEL President/CEO Joe Bodio, Local 103 Business Agent John Dumas, JATC Training Director James O’Connell, and JATC Assistant Training Director Christopher Sherlock accompanied Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito at the Joint Apprentice Training Center (JATC) in Boston as she visited and toured the IBEW facility.
The guided tour, which focused on the facility’s classroom, laboratory, and conference spaces, as well as demonstrations of the state-of-the-art technology used in the electrical and telecommunications programs, provided the Lt. Governor with an understanding and appreciation of the program, curriculum, and workforce development impact that the JATC has had in Eastern Massachusetts.
After the tour, the Lt. Governor joined a diverse group of instructors and students, including LAN-TEL apprentices Clarence Bates, Jordan Musto, and Mark Saulnier, for a round-table discussion where students were able to convey their appreciation for the JATC program and explain the professional success it has brought them.
